So my wife and I are in Milwaukee tonight taking in a Jonathon Coulton concert. I brought with a Novatel Wireless LTE Mifi that I just bought earlier this week. $49 on a 2-year contract. I've been waiting for this particular device to come out becuase I've been wanting a wireless hotspot to replace our Sprint Broadband card and since Verizon is first at rolling out the newest wireless standard. I didn't want to be stuck with something for 2 years that didn't take advantage of it. (Verizon's LTE rollout schedule is supposed to be on most of their network by the end of 2012.) Milwaukee wasn't listed as a current LTE city, but I hoped that maybe they would be testing it since Milwaukee is supposed to go official by the end of this year. I was thrilled (yes I'm such a geek) to see that the LTE indicator in my the Mifi lit up when I turned it on in the hotel room after the concert. My wife was clicking through her Pet Society and she said it's never been so fast even at home. (Which is 30Mbit Charter connection, so I think I'm going to have to do some troubleshooting on her laptop when I get back home.) Here's the results from a speed test to Chicago.

So freaking awesome. This is the FUTURE baby!!
