So I ordered this....
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00BLGUKDE/ref=od_aui_detailpages00?ie=UTF8&psc=1It's last years model selling way cheap right now. I'm going to send in my original one to get fixed for free and then get back to normal. The reason I'm doing this and I think I'm making the right choice is... I have to rooms to use these in. If I trade in the broken one and get the 125 dollar rebate towards a new model receiver... I end up getting one receiver to replace the broken one. And from what I read, the NR 636 which is the one I would have to trade in for.. they only give you the choice of the brand new models.. and in the price range I can spend, the 636 was in that range.... Anyhoo... that DOES NOT have THX Certified sound in it. Either does the one I just bought. Has all the other stuff... but not THX Cert... They moved that to their higher models.
Well my broken Onkyo the NR 609... does! And it's a bad ass receiver. So the new 636 model is on sale on Amazon for 429... Onkyo will give me 125... so I'm still spending over 300 close to 350 if I do it that way. Instead, I bought the last year model on sale for 299... spend a little less then I would with the rebate anyways... AND get my old only 3 year old receiver fixed for free and get that THX sound back in the front room now!
I still have my original Onkyo from 2007 that I use now in the front room... but it has no HDMI ports and that's what I bought when I first bought my 360 back in the day. So ya.. ya boyyyYYyyyYYY!! Comes Saturday.
Here's a link to my old receiver that I'm keeping and getting fixed.
