Nintendo's Shigeru Miyamoto recently spoke with the NY Times, providing his thoughts on online-connected game experiences, as well as the future of the Wii U.

擢or a long time at Nintendo we didn稚 focus as much on online play because for many years doing so would have limited the size of the audience that could enjoy those features," Miyamoto told the outlet. "But certainly now we see that so many people are connected to the Internet. It opens up a tremendous amount of possibilities.

With regards to the Wii U's rather underwhelming start, Mr. Miyamoto went on to say, 展e really view it as being the ideal device that families are going to want to have connected to that screen in the living room that everyone is going to gather around and watch. Certainly in the short term I would want to see it performing with probably a little more momentum. I think in the long term I知 not at a point where I知 concerned yet.

The Vita outsold it for the last 3 weeks in Japan.
Week one was around 11k to 9k.
Next week the Vita had a price cut and 3 big games and sold 62k, following week in sold 63k, I think the Wii U sold around 9k again....

Soul Sacrifice, Tales of Hearts R, Phantasy Star Online 2, and Senran Kagura: Shinovi Versus were all big titles for the Vita. Plus a lot of older titles dropped to $10 and made it back into the top 20.

I've heard of Phantasy Star before but I think that was back in the 90's......
