thanks, but i'm getting myself something brand spanking new.   i should of mentioned at the start that apple wasn't an option.    i'm a pc guy.    but thanks for the suggestions.

omega is a graphic designer guy too.

now the thing is, can i add more ram to that one i linked to?  i'm guessing i can.   the step above has 10 gigs or ram

I know, and I already knew the answer to that.  Just thought I would lend out a helping hand to a friend.  Even though its my own opinion on the matter, I just hate seeing someone make what in my mind and in all of my experiences a bad decision.  Oh well.    But you shouldn't be so closed minded, it's sort of like Emicro.  Not totally, but sort of.  And I'd be willing to bet, maybe I'm wrong, but your kids will most likely be using Mac products at school...      I'm out of this discussion, I tried.  :drinks2:

maybe this one?
What are others (pc folk), what do they think of this model?    or the one above has like 6 cores, and 4 more gigs of ram, and another terabyte for the hard drive.... is that worth the 250 or so more?
