Tales from Solis Minecraft Server
« on: July 07, 2012, 12:37:54 AM »
I know you guys have an XBOX thread, so as not to derail that thread I'll make this one. I thought I might share some screens as our major castle project nears completion in some areas. Deathwish and I play on PC with a number of the more popular mods. Nothing game breaking though. Every block is hand mined, though we do have a number of machines to supply our imagination.

i hear that the 360 controls way better, and there's a big difference between the crafting or something like that.    they made it for the 360 and not the pc or something like that.   and i'm talking about the crafting table.. i think that's what i've read.

but everything obviously is better on pc... pc would always be the way to go it seems.

Depends if they know what their doing. lol Our first line security is Whitelisting. They can't join unless we whitelist them. If they get passed that we have permissions set they they basically cant do anything other than place blocks until we put them in the "regulars" group which gives them limited teleportation privileges. They'd also have to figure out which world of the 3 we play on cause we have a few extra worlds for some reason(Luke >.>). Assuming they'd even figure out our I.P. because our private facebook page is, well, private. We also backup our server daily and save every 15 minutes. WE ARE PREPARED.

Also, those people are ****ing horrible people. lol

Workshop Entrance

Workshop

Storage

Reactor with reinforced stone blocks and windows

Computer(Left) controling the catwalk, reactorchambor doors and water flow from the ceiling. All of which move on command. Reactor status display(right).

Catwalk and chamber doors powered by thermal piles.

The power is run to the workshop through fiber optic cable. Cable takes a diamond per 6 blocks; Industrialcraft has a dropoff rate of power and fiberoptic has no drop in power per any distance.

Tower that stands over 206 blocks from bedrock, under construction. It was built in 5 block increments because Buildcraft's builder and template maker still required a lot of work to setup even though they automate block placing. Also the wooden frames shown here are scaffolding that work like ladders only blocks. While it can be stacked infinitely they only span a few blocks horizontally without support.

Finished at a distance.

Our work in progress.

Also reactors are volatile if left without proper supervision. This was only the consequence of a small reactor compared to the monster we created underground.

I figured this questions was coming XD. Also I will answer any other questions because there are a lot of blocks that are not in vanilla so ask away.

The Hud is all a mod for the client side called CJB's mod. It adds a mini-map(upper right),  current coordinates, tool stats, biome indicator, game-time in 12hour version, game-time in computer clock, light indicator and environmental light indicator(upper left). The mini-map shows animals as green, players as blue and enemies red. The different levels of transparency show if they are on the same level of block as you. The purple stuff is actually blocks it has no texture/color for because we are too lazy to set it up. lol Also the little black dot on the corner of the mini-map shows the last place I died. It renders a black polygon for me to see when i get within so many blocks to aid me too.  The mod isn't part of the mod pack we distribute to everyone on our server because there are a lot of mods like this one and its all client based anyway. Just easier for them ask us or find one they like on their own.

Major mods:
Redstone Power by Elorram
IndustrialCraft2
RailCraft
BuildCraft2
