It's Derek Jeters birthday today.  Wouldn't it be something if he goes 4-4 or 4-5 and passes Cal Ripken Jr for 14th all time in hits!!  That would be totally exciting.

He is still only 2 hits away from tying Ripken.  I think he will have to try for that tomorrow.  Unless we get the next 4 batters on.

Mike Trout just got nominated for an ESPY today for his catch in center field... straight up ROBBING a dude of a home run in the first.  Oh yeah, the ROOKIE is batting .344.  1st in the American League, 5th overall in all of baseball.  Not bad for a 20 year old kid.  Who's this Bryce Harper guy people keep talking about?

MLB Tonight was talking to Torii Hunter and they said his catch in the All Star game robbing Bonds of a home run.  This still has to be one of the best catches ever.

Hey, I almost forgot in all of this Angels stuff.  How are those Dodgers doing?   :tumble: They need Kemp back fast!  Ethier went down today, probably not for long though.  No longer the best record, and no longer division leaders (they're tied with the Giants who just Shutout Swept them for the FIRST TIME EVER!)

How about that Gary Matthews Jr. catch when he was with Texas, or that Jim Edmonds no look dive in dead center?

Only thing I don't like about Trout is that I didn't pick him p when I could have in my fantasy league.  :caine:

OR what about the one that saved the Perfect Game for Cain the diving catch by Blanco.  That was a hell of a catch as well.

Also Jeter is now tied with Ripken then he needs 58 to tie Nap Lajoie who was a player from the 1800s.

Chris Sale from the White Sox is a local kid from FGCU.  He is the first Florida Gulf coast University to start an All Star game.  That is pretty awesome!!
