In the latest issue of Official Nintendo Magazine, Mario Party 9 was tested and some new content was announced. Mario Party  9 received a test score of 86%, while Mario Party 8 at that time only 69% rating. The old game  has changed a lot. This is partly from a completely different development team. Here are some of the new features in Mario Party 9:

On game boards you have no coins to collect
Browser usually appear before the end of a game board
    It contains 78 mini-games
In story mode you have to compete against browser servant
there is a Guard Mode, here you have a garden planted with flowers
In perspective mode you can see the mini games from the third-person perspective
You will be able to unlock different vehicles and game boards
There is a Time Trial mode to give
The game does not have a classic game mode from the previous spin-offs
    It contained no online features
