Family Guy is a great show!!!  I saw one last week that I have never seen before.  It was the one when they legalized marijuana.  Fantastic.  To legalize it they sung a song with all the bennifits for it, and when it came to sing about the downside of weed, it just cut to the next scene, as if they couldnt come up with anything.  Priceless.

Like many here, I liked Family Guy before it came back on the air, before it was "cool" to like Family Guy.

Most episodes have enough funny parts to keep me watching, but the writing isn't as good as it used to be.

recent great episodes - multiverse, 420, stephen king parody, peter turns gay, blue harvest...If these are the kind of episodes geared toward people who watch it just to be cool, then sign me up as a douce bag, because some of this past year episodes have been the funniest yet!

I think you're missing my point, I certainly wasn't trying to insult those who are enjoying the show, sorry if it came off that way. Like I said, I still watch every episode.

It's like the Simpsons, watching Homer hurt himself and say "Doh!" for the 100th time is not as funny as when, for example, we learned Troy McClure had a fish fetish. But hurting Homer is an easy "go to" gag, which is why we see it in almost every episode. Doesn't mean I don't like the Simpsons, I just don't laugh as much as I used to. Same with Family Guy, IMO, the writing has gotten a little lazy in recent years, repeating character clichés a bit too much.

cartoon characters are kinda like comfort foods, you can always count on them to bring you back.  character develpoment is good but sometimes can destroy a show, e.g. king of the hill, but yeah...I agree, repetitiveness can be lame.
