Can anyone recomend a descent chain saw?
« on: August 08, 2010, 08:41:34 PM »
I need to do some yard work and need a descent chain saw. I was looking a Remington @ Sears, Wal Mart & Amazon. They have good reviews.

I was looking @ the 14" & 16" models. Here are the links for them.

I just need to cut down a few Palm Trees (Stumps) TOTALLY DEAD!! Plus some vine growing up some a few trees.
Thank you for your help.
Mischa.

hahaha yes chainsaw shopping!!!

id go with the 16", it might be heavier but it seem to be more precausious, hand gaurds are very important, plus it looks liek itll definately do some damage.

I ended up going with a Poulon 14" that does have a chainguard. The other model I was looking at leaked oil alot they were saying. Plus since I went to Lowes I got 10% off for being Military which is totally kick ass. I got alot done but I still have a bunch left to do.

Yeah it was fun as hell though. Except for the goggles fogging up. Besides that it was fun as hell!!

Ok so that Poulan I picked up I returned 2 of them. The chain kept coming off. Then I had them plug the same one in at the store outside and it was doing the same thing. So it looks like I will have to pick up a 16" after all. What was so nice about this one it was so light. Much lighter than the 16".
