Full Adobe Flash Support For Android 2.2

Googleís next update to mobile operating system Android will enable users to run games and other apps built in Flash.

The move will open a new door for application developers to get their software onto Android platforms, as websites written in Flash won't need to be recoded.

In contrast, Apple prohibits Flash from appearing on iPhone, meaning the device is incapable of displaying some portions of the internet.

Andy Rubin, vice president for engineering at Google, also told The New York Times that Android phones sales will overtake those of iPhone and Blackberry.

ďItís a numbers game. When you have multiple OEMs [original equipment manufacturers] building multiple products in multiple product categories, itís just a matter of time. I donít know when its might be, but Iím confident it will happen. Open usually wins.Ē

Earlier this week, Google announced that it had acquired Israeli game and web gadget developer LabPixies.

Thinking about upgrading to a better cell phone and since I have Verizon I have been considering one of these. Do you guys recommend one of these or should I get some other type such as a smart phone/Blackberry. And no I wont get a iPhone because I hate AT&T's wireless coverage.

depends i guess, the keypad, virtual or hard keys are probably not as good as the blackberry, so if you have to email stuff a lot you might want to consider something else

Verizon has a lot of Android phones, I have the Droid and love it.

I'm sure the Droid will get the update with it being less then a year old.
