I'm surprised you guys never got into Bad Company 2. You could start off with Battlefield 3 which is on target still for a Holiday 2011 release.
played it a bit, loved the single player campaign, but when it comes right down to it, the controls aren't as precise as COD and it bugs me a lot when I'm using a controller. If I had a decent PC rig I'd probably be playing it like a mofo. The controls just feel loose and arcadey (though BFBC2 is infinitely better than BFBC1 in this department!). Secondly yeah, most the 20C doesn't roll with BFBC2..... I rented it for over a month and didn't get into a single game with anyone I knew, go figure the game is practically bullshit if you can't get into a good squad. And of course getting into a good squad is nearly impossible unless you have friends to party up with.... And on top of that, that nearly no one plays the game as it's intended to be played and is designed, just sitting in corners getting worried about nothing but their k/d ratio just like in COD, it lost it's appeal to me fast.
If people would play the game as it was intended to be played it would be awesome.
It seems like every match I played was one by a squad of two to three guys who actually went for the objectives while everyone else played team deathmatch. Of course that one squad made it so whichever team they were on won by a landslide everytime. Frustrating as all hell to me.
