It's probably delayed because of the X1 version.

Oh wait!  :ninja:

1 Year later!   It's finally coming in October.

Hi all. Its a big day for us at Worldwide Studios as we are now in a position to announce a launch date for the much anticipated PS4 exclusive title from Evolution Studios DRIVECLUB.

The team has been working relentlessly on the game and have captured a new video to showcase just how impressive its currently looking. I absolutely loved it so please watch through to find out the date.

We planned for the game to be ready for early 2014 and are committed to delivering on our ambitious promise of creating a truly innovative, socially connected racing game. The problem with being ambitious is you have to be prepared to accept there will be challenges along the way. What DRIVECLUB offers has not been previously achieved in this category and because of this, the team needed more time to give you the game youre waiting for.

In addition to the new date, we are also very pleased to announce that as of February 2014, Paul Rustchynsky better known as Rushy has been at the helm of DRIVECLUB as Game Director.

His experience when it comes to delivering racing games is impeccable. Previously Game Director on critically acclaimed MotorStorm RC, he has been an integral contributor to all major titles coming out of Evolution Studios since 2004. With Rushy in the lead, we know DRIVECLUB will deliver on its initial promise to be a truly next gen racing title for our PS4 portfolio.

We are really proud of the incredible work the team has produced their tenacity and passionate pursuit of excellence is admirable and DRIVECLUB will be all the better for it.

Your anticipation for the title since my last update has been a huge source of motivation for the team at Evolution Studios, and I know they are all extremely grateful for your continued support.

Look out for plenty more news on DRIVECLUB in the coming weeks including a blog update direct from Rushy tomorrow, and dont forget, the date is in the trailer. I hope you enjoy watching it.

1080p 30fps. It's an arcade open world racer, and I kind of expected that. Looks good. But a year delay better make this game rock solid and fun

30fps is harsh for a racing game specifically, and while I obviously don't know the limitations of the ps4 hardware from a design standpoint, nor how online focused the game may or may not be, it baffles me that this day and age, they aren't (and many other devs for that matter) aren't at least shooting for at least 60fps minimum. It seems that many a new PC titles have 120fps quickly becoming more of a standard.

Are they still making this game?  Perhaps as a free launch game for the PS5?

You're confusing Drive Club with Grant Turismo again.

Doesn't look as good in still shot as it does in motion imo.  Unless it's way downgraded which I don't believe.  That's weird though the still looks worse.  What do you think @cuco33 ?

Get this.. there is no photo mode!   Not right away... something I read will be patched in.  So the game is delayed a year and still won't have all this ready at launch?

I think FH2 is going to be the more fun overall game with lots more to do.. and this one will be the prettier looking game.

Yep.. that's the latest I've heard.  That's kind of funny since it's been a year delay.

I wasn't sure about there being a photomode or not but if that also is being patched then seriously what was the year delay for???

Ya not sure.  Maybe to make it look prettier.  I didn't know the game was made by the motorstorm guys.  So the visuals should be top notch.  I still think FH2 will have more content though and be better ovrerall.

It very well could be. Thing with me is I'm expecting FH2 to be a good next gen FH title where DC is entirely new. The DC devs are pretty good since MS during PS3 era was good and WRC for PS2 era was also good so EVO aren't some shitty devs

Weird to see this much controversy and delays happening with this title considering the pedigree on the studio working on it, I wouldn't hold my breath on this one, they're obviously dealing with some kind of serious shit.

OUch... It's getting reviewed bad.

The problem with DriveClub is that it's just competent. You'll drive some fast cars in some arresting environments. You might even have fun, in between getting clobbered with penalties. But there's no romance to it. No passion. What there is, however, is the lingering sense that the gaps were supposed to be filled by the much-touted social features - the fires were to be stoked by human rivalry. Sadly, beyond those bite-sized Face Off challenges, which are essentially side missions, there's nothing particularly engaging or new here.

What we're left with is a flimsy framework - a sort of clothes horse for content - rather than a truly great racing game. DriveClub is patently intended to attract a global, interconnected audience of fiercely competitive racers but, to quote the increasingly obscure 1989 Kevin Costner film Field of Dreams: if you build it, they will come. And, unfortunately, Evolution hasn't quite built it.

You notice that once Destiny came out.... reviews don't matter as much now?  :)  I knew Ryse was a fun game.

So... ya... this game. Not really impressed. The driving model is too forgiving- very arcade like. The tracks look like they are incased in snow globes no where near the vast expanse that is Forza Horizon 2. There's no atmosphere to this game. It's just menus that go to tasks to do. I can customize my character, but I don't see why. Granted the severs have been down for me, so I haven't seen that side of things, but man that stuff has a lot to make up for.
